Teachers
All of our teachers are volunteers but each bring a wealth of Lindy Hop experience to our classes. All are accomplished Lindy Hop dancers and have been trained by some of the biggest names in Lindy Hop, both here in the UK and at Dance Camps around the world.
We regularly rotate teachers (so you get a variety of styles and content from week-to-week) and we also recruit from the newest talent to the Lindy Hop scene to constantly keep our classes fresh and exciting.

Rob Shield 
Teacher / Performer / Choreographer
Dancing Lindy since 2005 producing popular choreography for several University shows and Lindy@theLight. Jack & Jill competition winner at Manchester’s 2010 Lindy Lounge Ball. Choreographer of the acclaimed Pencil Full of Lead Routine. Rob brings plenty of fun and enthusiasm to every Lindy Fridays.
Alison Jones 

Teacher / Performer / Choreographer
Dancing Lindy since 2001. Producing choreographies for LUU Swing Soc and Lindy@theLight. Organiser of the Future Sounds of Swing Dance Camp in Leeds. Teacher and organiser of the popular Swing-a-Ding-Ding Leeds Sunday workshops. Guest teacher for Kingston Swing, Newcastle Swing Thing, & Hullzapoppin. Best in show, Crufts 2003 & Badger‘s best friend.
Danielle Miles

Dancing Lindy since 2007. President of the LUU Swing Soc 2009 – 2010. Choreographer for University show. Our fastest graduating LindyFridays teacher. Lindy@theLight performer & famed lover of gold hot-pants

Tina Bunck

Founder of Uptown Shuffle. Dancing Lindy since 2003, Tina joins us all the way from the Seattle swing scene. In Leeds just a few weeks before joining our teaching line-up. A truly accomplished follow and performance dancer. Tina demonstrates some super smooth styling in her dancing.
Helena Avery-Clarke 


Teacher / Choreographer / Performer
Helena is one of our brightest new LindyFridays graduate teachers. Dancing Lindy since 2008. Mastermind behind the upcoming Leeds Swing Exchange. Regular contributor at The Future Sounds of Swing. Another regular of Lindy Fridays and established LUU Swing Soc member. Producing many a spectacular choreography for (and performing in) routines in the LUU Dance show and at Lindy@theLight. Helena’s boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm makes a welcome addition to our teaching line-up.
Simon B 
Teacher / Performer
Dancing Lindy since 2009. Simon has honed his Lindy talent during a year in Beijing. LUU Swing Soc & Hullzapoppin teacher Performing in many a University show, the Lindy Fridays Birthday Ball and at Lindy@theLight. Simon is one of the shiniest new additions to the Leeds Lindy scene.

Founder of Lindy Fridays & Lindy@theLight. Dancing Lindy since 2001. Guest teacher for LUU Swing Soc, Kingston Swing, Newcastle Swing Thing, Future Sounds of Swing, & Swing-a-Ding-Ding Sunday workshops. Founder/ Teacher for Salsa Leeds. Lover of Fruit Pastilles. Trained by a Badger & a Hedghog.
